Today is Veterans Day; but events have been taking place around the country all week, and continue over the weekend. Read about just a few of these by clicking on the links below.

North Staffordshire held its first ever Veterans Day event on Sunday.

The Black Watch Pipers led a parade following a church service at Stoke Minster, Stoke-on-Trent, ahead of Friday's National Veterans' Day.

Despite gale force winds, Nottingham's Veterans Weekend saw skydiving, cheerleading, and brass music from the Mercian Regimental Band.

Raising awareness of Swindon's veterans was the order of the day as the town kicked off its Veterans Day events on Saturday

Swindon RBL member Roy Smith said the event was about people showing their gratitude.

It's to get the public to say thank you to the veterans, he said. And not just the ones who fought in the Second World War but also those who are now coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan.
