Stoke is preparing to celebrate its first ever Veterans Day on 22 June
The event has been organised by Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, but anybody from Staffordshire or Cheshire is welcome to take part.

Organisers and council leaders today said they were "honoured" that The Duchess, who is Royal Colonel of the 4th Battalion The Rifles, Commodore-in-Chief of Naval Medical Services, Royal Navy, and Lady Sponsor of HMS Astute, will be visiting the resort for the first time as part of the national celebrations.

An RAF flypast will add to Huddersfield’s Veterans Day celebrations on 28 June.
The Tucano aircraft will fly over the town as veterans groups from across Kirklees meet on June 28 for a special event to celebrate National Veterans’ Day.
